  • Complete learner records, assessments, progress reviews, and related documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support teams to maximise learner success.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Level 2 qualification (or above) in Carpentry & Joinery or a related construction trade.
  • Significant industry experience within Carpentry and/or Joinery.
  • Strong practical skills and up-to-date industry knowledge.
  • Experience delivering training, coaching, mentoring, apprenticeships, or vocational learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and support learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to helping individuals develop skills, confidence, and employability.

Desirable

  • Teaching qualification (AET, PTLLS, CET, DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).
  • Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent).
  • Experience working in adult education, apprenticeship training, prison education, or employability programmes.
  • Knowledge of vocational qualifications and learner assessment processes.

If you do not currently hold a teaching or assessing qualification, support may be available to help you gain the required qualifications as part of your professional development.

Who Would Be Ideal?

This role would suit:

  • An experienced Carpenter or Joiner looking to move into teaching.
  • A vocational trainer or assessor with a construction background.

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Opportunity to change lives through education
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Support to gain teaching and assessing qualifications
  • Small class sizes and practical workshop-based teaching
  • A rewarding career helping learners build a brighter future
